Day 29: Scales

This is the pedestrian bridge over Columbus Drive that connects Daley Plaza with Millennium Park.  Created by Frank Gehry in 2004 this bridge has won awards for its use with sheet metal.  Named the BP Pedestrian Bridge due to the $5M dollar donation that BP provided to the construction of the bridge.  The bridge is described as snakelike due the curving form and scale-like look.  With the hardwood floor boards this bridge is a total of 935 feet long and is closed in the winter since snow and ice cannot be safely removed from those boards.
