Day 204: Rivets

The rivets on the Harrison Street Bridge. The light reflects off the bridge as the sun sets in the west.  The contrasting black and white photo really shows the details along the bridge.

Day 203: Crowd Control Railing

We were taking shelter from the sun at a concert and lying under on our backs under the tree and snapped a shot of the railing used to help with the crowd control.  I thought that it was a cool shot so I decided to share.

Day 196: Kwanusila

Kwanusila, the thunderbird, is an authentic Kwagulth Indian totem pole carved in red cedar by Tony Hunt of Fort Rupert of British Columbia.

The crests carved upon the totem pole represent Kwansula, the thunderbird, a whale with a man on its back and a sea monster.

Kwanusila is an exact replica of the original Kraft Lincoln Park totem pole, which was donated to the city of Chicago by James L. Kraft on June 20, 1929 and stood on this spot until October 9, 1985.

Kwanusila is dedicated to the school children of Chicago, and was presented to the city of Chicago by Kraft Inc. on May 21, 1985.

Day 195: Tony O

Today is the start of the Blackhawks Convention downtown at the Hilton.  Although it is the off-season for the Hawks and they weren’t able to bring the Cup back to Chicago this year, it didn’t stop the fans from swiping all the tickets to the event.  The sold out event starts at 3pm with opening ceremonies at 5pm.  Get there early and stay late.

Here is a close up shot that I got when I last met Tony Esposito and had him autograph a photo for me.  As team ambassador,he also received a Championship ring in 2010.
